Day 180

Nice warm, sunny spring like day here today.
Me and Carla did a Wii workout first thing this morning. After breakfast we went into Noel's to have a look at their snowman family (pics below)and to spend lunch with them. I walked part of the way while the girls were getting ready, takes a while for 3 girls to get ready ya know. After lunch Ruby, Carla & Kim went into Woodstock, some more shopping, and they dropped me off to walk home. On he way a large dog ran out from someones place and bit me on the back of my left leg above the knee. He did not break the skin but he left a good mark. Will have to carry a club or something while out walking now lol. When we all got back home we settled down to watch the gold medal hockey game between Canada & the USA. The girls were all ready as you can see from the pics below. Noel, Damien & Payton here for supper. Congrats Canada on the win and the great Olympic Games - ya done great!!!!! Carla and Kim are just gone for a walk and we are watching the closing ceremonies.

Day 179

Mild here today with a little snow.
Me and Noel went to Tillsonburg early this morning to do the turkey seminar. Both of us passed so I think we got everything we need to hunt up here now. After all the courses and seminars I think we are licenced to hunt everything that moves lol. Ruby, Carla & Kim were into Woodstock - I think it had something to do with shopping. When we got back from Tillsonburg Damien & Payton were here and having a great time. They really remembered Carla. Noel went home to clean up his driveway and came back for supper. After supper Noel and the grandkids went home (Payton wanted to stay) and we watch Canada win the gold medal in men's curling - GO CANADA !!!!!!

Day 178

Snow and wind here again today.
Left early this morning to go to Toronto Airport to pick up Carla and Kim. Some snow and lots of wind on the way in - not a lot of snow on the 401 though. Lots of traffic, we saw at least 6 accidents and we were caught in 1 fine traffic jam. We finally got there and picked up the girls - great to see them. After we left the airport we went to Brampton and purchased a compact washer and dryer. We had a fine load - 4 people, 4 suitcases, a washer and a dryer but we managed to get it all in. We were going to go to china town in Toronto but it was snowing pretty heavy by then so we decided to head home. We will take the girls there later in the week when the weather is better. Of course we didn't have enough in our SUV so Ruby wanted to stop at Walmart to get some groceries and then the girls stopped in a few more stores along the way even though they were pretty tired. We finally made it home got everything unloaded and I went for my walk. The girls conked out on the sofa after supper. Just finished watching the Canada / Finland women's curling, to bad Canada loss, but getting ready now to watch the men's hockey - GO CANADA !!!!!!!

Then, while Ruby was doing her Wii workout I went to the walk-in clinic to have my over 50 prescription refilled. Watching the Canada / Germany hockey game right now - GO CANADA !!!!!!!

Day 173

Beautiful spring like day today with lots of sun and very warm.
Sighted in Noel's pellet gun this morning and hoping to get some more shots at the muskrats. Had a few shots but the pellet gun was way off - no excuse now if I miss. Me and Noel were in to our hunting place after lunch to check on my camera - we had 40 pics but none were deer. We had fox, raccoons & squirrels. Noel, Damien & Payton here for supper. DL Red Wings gone so no trip to the herder for us - too bad. Watching the Canada US hockey game now - GO CANADA !!!!!

Day 172

Nice mild day here today with some sun in the morning but cloudy after that - no wind.
Up bright and early with the grandkids this morning so I got to do my Wii workout extra early. Tammy picked them up at 11 am to take them to gymnastics. Ruby did her Wii workout then and I went for a walk. Noel, Damien & Payton here for supper. After they left we listened to some of the hockey game between the Royals & Bous and kept a check on the Red Wings game. Doesn't look as if the Royals or Red Wings are going anywhere so I guess we won't be going home for the Herder unless a miracle happens. Watching lots of the Olympics - GO CANADA !!!!!!

Day 171

Mild and windy again today with some sun later in the day.
Wii 1st thing. After breakfast Ruby did her Wii and I went for a walk. Then we went into Woodstock looking for a small portable washing machine for Ruby, she's not fussy about bring her laundry to the laundry room in the park. She has to make so many trips and sometimes its in use and will be used a lot more when the people get back from down south. We figure if we get an apartment size washer that hooks to the sink it will do us and she can dry the laundry outdoors when weather permits. After 3pm I went into Noel's and picked up Damien & Payton as Tammy had a dental appointment and Noel had to go to work. They are here for a sleepover. Tammy here for supper when she got back and to spend some time with the kids. Great evening once again with them and lots of laughs.

Wii 1st thing. After breakfast we picked up the grandkids and took them into Woodstock for some skating. When skating was over it was Damien's turn to pick the place for lunch. I bet you can guess where he picked, my we are spending some time at McDonalds. They had a great time in the playroom there. Then we took them to Walmart before dropping them of at home - some fun. When we got home Ruby done her Wii and I went for a walk. I also had another shot at the muskrat but missed again - must be the pellet gun lol. After supper I had another 20 bags of corn delivered which we stored in the bins on the patio. We are now watching the hockey game between Canada and the Swiss - GO CANADA!!!!!!!

Day 169

Mild here again today with some wind and a few flurries.
Me, Noel & Payton went to Stratford this morning to the Service Ontario place where Noel got his H1 Outdoors Card which is the card required up here to hunt with guns and bows. I already have mind. Then we went for breakfast and I don't have to tell you where Payton wanted to go and she got her way lol. When I got home our friend the muskrat was in the back of our lot again. I had picked up Noel's pellet handgun the night before so I went out for a shot at it. Before I could get set it ran for the brook, I fired but don't think I hit it. Will keep an eye out for it and may get another chance later. Ruby don't like it there. Something to hunt anyways lol. There were also 2 ducks in the brook. Ruby was doing her Wii workout went I got home and then I did mine. After that I went for a walk. Then we settled in for the evening to watch some more Olympics. While we were having supper we saw 3 deers in the field behind our home. Lots of wildlife today.

Day 167

Cloudy mild day here today.
Wii 1st thing. After breakfast cleaned the corn stove while Ruby did her Wii workout and her laundry. After lunch I got a locker in the park building and took the left over paint etc there as its heated all the time. Didn't want it freezing out in the shed. Went for a walk after that. While Ruby was getting supper she looked out the kitchen window and saw what she thought was a large rat by the bank of the brook running behind our place. It was a large rat but it was a muskrat. I went out and checked and he has a couple trails on the bank ands seemed to be collecting grass etc and taking it to the brook. Not sure if he is making a nest or not, not even sure if they even do that, but he's doing something with the grass I guess. After supper we settled in to watch some more of the Olympics.

I'm impressed with Ruby she had only one Hersey kiss today and its the first bit of chocolate she as had in a long while. Noel picked the grandkids up before lunch. Did some relaxing after that - some reading and watching the Olympics. We went into Noel's for supper as he had a little birthday supper for Tammy.
