Me and Ruby got out for our walk this morning - Ruby getting over her cold. A few flurries off and on all day.
The grandkids here for lunch and then took them into Woodstock with us. Bought a propane generator just in case the power goes off here. If we lose our power we have no heat etc so we are trying to be prepared for that. Generator should be able to run our propane furnace and corn stove no problem. We can use the propane tank from our BBQ to run it. After supper we got our things ready for our trip to New York. We are leaving tomorrow a little after 1 pm when Tammy gets of work and going to Niagara Falls (Ruby wants to try her luck at the casino) for the night and then going to the resort in New York on Wednesday morning. We may stay 1 or 2 nights in the US or we may come back to Niagara Falls - not sure yet. We are suppose to get a bit of snow up this way so hopefully the weather will not be too bad for our trip.

Day 96
Lots of frost again this morning but a cold sunny day - no snow yet.
Getting some things ready this morning for our trip to New York. Me, Noel & James in to check our trail camera after lunch - no pictures on it. A full week now and no deer pics - we moved the camera to another spot. Also took in some corn and corn cobs and put near to each of our setups. Hopefully it will attract some deer if the raccoons and squirrels don't eat it all first. Picked up Damien & Payton on the way home and brought them here for supper. Me & Noel loaded his pickup with most of the wood that was left (left a little bit for us in case we wanted to have a fire this summer) and took it into James place - he is thinking about getting a wood stove. We got 2 pickup loads plus from the 2 trees - packed in too. After Noel and the grandkids left we got our Christmas gifts and cards ready and will post them tomorrow.

Day 95
Lots of frost this morning - sunny but cold all day.
Into Noel's this morning to help him put up his outside Christmas lights - he has some of the lights etc that we brought up. Ruby into Woodstock and bought 2 car seats for the grandchildren to go in our vehicle. It was a hassle to be changing the seats from one vehicle to another and sometimes we needed the seats and they were not available so we got our own. Noel, Damien & Payton here for supper. After they left we listened to the hockey game between Deer Lake and Corner Brook - good weekend Red Wings - 2 wins - keep it up. Congrats Terri-Lyn on shooting your first moose.

Day 94
Sunny day but cold.
Damien & Payton here at 8 am this morning. They found their monthly allowance we give them hidden in our Christmas tree. We took them to Blockbusters where Damien rented a Wii game and Payton rented 2 movies for a week. Then took them to their favorite place to eat - Macs. After we got back I took everything out of the shed again (going have the containers wore out) and took down the 2 shelves they had in the back so I could pack the containers away better. Gave me a little more room to work with but it seems that every time we need something its in the last container at the bottom lol. Cleaned the wippersnipper and mower and put them away for the winter. Who ever said there was lots of time to do things once you retire obviously wasn't retired. Put up some lights along the patio railing and the eaves - don't have to put up quite so many here as I did at home. After supper we listened to the hockey game between Deer Lake and Corner Brook - way to go Red Wings. Noel, Tammy, Damien & Payton here for a visit.

Day 93
No rain this morning and 6 degrees. Ruby still not feeling well.
Waiting for our corn to be delivered this morning - he showed up at 11 am with 20 bags. Went into Kitchener after to see if we could get our Ontario drivers licence. They have opened 7 centers in Ontario with limited service because of the strike up here. There were security guards on the door but we finally got our Ontario drivers licence. The ones we have are temp until they come in the mail. Ruby's is for 5 years but mine is only for 1 year as I have to do a written test next year for my air brake endorsement. Don't ask me why as I thought that air brakes worked the same in Ontario as they do in Newfoundland lol. Another money grab I guess. We wanted the licence before we went into the states on Wednesday.

Day 92
Out for a walk by myself this morning - Ruby to sick. Nice sunny day.
Got all the Christmas containers out today with lots of help from the grandkids. Ruby went through them and we sorted out a lot - some she wanted (she wanted it all but I had to put my foot down hey Jimmy), Tammy, Damien & Payton took what they wanted and we put the rest away to be sold later. Was going to put up some outside lights but never had the time, it was supper time before we got it all straightened out. Started raining around supper time. After supper me and Noel went into our hunting area to check the trail camera - we got 5 pics of Noel, no deer lol.

Day 91
A skim of snow on the ground but all gone by 10 am. Nice sunny day.
Ruby has a head cold and a very sore throat. Into Noel's at 1130 am where Ruby watched Payton and I checked the reason for the noise in their van. Found 1 front brake pad gone - metal against metal. Replaced all front pads on their van - good brakes now. Me and Ruby out for our weekly Tuesday supper. Ruby got her new Christmas tree - we bought one while we were in Woodstock. Set up tree when we got home. Christmas is back on - thought it was going to be cancelled if Ruby didn't get her tree lol. Waiting for the grandkids to get here tomorrow to help with the decorating.
